Ryan "Madden"
Lead Vocalist
Ryan Erik Madden sings lead vocals and plays occasional rhythm guitar and keyboard. He's loved music since he was little. He loves shopping for clothes, hanging with his band and friends, and eating the "good munchies" at Skyline Chili, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Hardee's. Ryan loves the music of Tool, Five Finger Death Punch, and Breaking Benjamin. He hopes to inspire you with his words onstage.
"St. Michael" Madden
Bassist
Michael James Madden plays bass guitar for the Intellectuals. He wants to express himself and solve the problems and struggles his band members face through his music. Mikey has associated himself with music since he was in sixth grade, when he began to listen to punk rock music. He loves having 'Skyline Time' with his friends at Skyline Chili and shopping for band t-shirts at the mall. St. Michael listens to the music of the Descendents, Blink-182, the Ramones the Cure, and the Clash. Michael wants the Intellectuals to be the band he needed during the rough times of his life.
Jacob Collins
Drummer
Jacob Collins plays drums for the Intellectuals. Jacob began playing for the Intellectuals during his freshman year of high school, where he met Nathan Weingartner and the Madden brothers. He began drum lessons when he was little, but eventually became self taught with the help of his brother. Jacob loves playing video games, playing drums, and learning how to play the guitar. He loves listening to the music of AC/DC and Guns N' Roses. Jacob hopes to become a better musician through the Intellectuals and to grow closer with his bandmates.
Adam Norris
Assistant Sound Engineer / Crew
Adam Norris is the assistant sound engineer to Joey Woodruff, the Intellectuals' band photographer, and is a member of the Intellectuals Crew. He supports the band and remains loyal to the cause. Adam spend his time learning to play the bass guitar and being with his friends. He hopes to help the band become popular and inspire other musicians to bring out their hidden talents.
Nathan "N8" Weingartner
Lead Guitarist
Nathan Joseph Weingartner plays lead guitar for the Intellectuals. His passions have always resided in the realm of music. Before beginning guitar, he played the trumpet for five years. He enjoys Skyline and improvising solos on his guitars. Nate loves listening to the music of Megadeth, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marty Friedman, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. He can't wait to share our music with the world.
Coby Smith
Rhythm Guitarist
Coby Smith plays rhythm guitar for The Intellectuals. Coby volunteers his time to play rhythm guitar at our live shows, and most of the band's successes would not be possible without him. He enjoys listening to music, playing music with friends, and learning how to play the drums. Coby considers the Intellectuals some of the best people he knows and hopes to always rock out with them.
"Lord" Benny Wang
Pianist/Keyboardist
Benny Wang plays piano and electric keyboard for The Intellectuals. Benny joined the band in April of 2018 due to popular demand. He has been playing piano for years and is the nicest guy you could possibly meet. Benny was born in China before transporting to the United States where he would go to the same high school as his fellow Intellectuals. Benny hopes to have fun with his friends on stage and make new friends in the crowd.
Joey "J.J." Woodruff
Producer / Sound Engineer / Crew
Joey Woodruff, also known as J.J. Woodruff and xCobra, is the producer and sound engineer of the Intellectuals and is a member of the Intellectuals Crew. The Intellectuals are a band which is brought to everyone by J.J. Woodruff Productions. Joey also produces the SoundCloud rapper Katt. Joey is attending GrooveU for college to learn what it takes to become a master sound engineer. Nothing the Intellectuals have accomplished would be possible without the support of Joey Woodruff. He loves producing music, whether it be his own or someone else's, and hopes to see the Intellectuals succeed in the future.
